Membership rates and terms
Students, unemployed and retired members qualify for Associate member status, which offers the same benefits as Ordinary membership at reduced prices. Student membership also offers reduced rates for some BSHS events, and is available for up to five years. The retired members' rate is available to those who have been members for four years or more (and are of retiring age.)
Any person in financial difficulties who wishes to renew membership should write in confidence to discuss terms (details below.)
How to renew your membership
We offer the following options:
Online credit/debit card payment: pay directly through this site by going to Online membership renewal.
Direct Debit: applicants with a UK bank account may alternatively set up a Direct Debit arrangement, allowing automatic annual renewal with no further work (see more about the Direct Debit scheme.) Simply print, fill in and sign both the membership application form and the Direct Debit mandate form from the links below, post them to us in the same envelope, and we'll do the rest.
If you already have a Direct Debit arrangement with us, renewal should follow automatically and you need do nothing further.
