Portable Document Format (PDF) is a standard, developed by Adobe Systems, which allows documents to be presented consistently across a variety of computer system configurations. Web browsers cannot read PDF files directly, although many browsers now offer straightforward access to a PDF reader inside the main browser window.
However, if you are unable to view the PDF files on this site, you may not have a reader installed. In this case, you can download one of the following free packages:
- Adobe Reader, Adobe's standard PDF reader software;
- OpenOffice.org, the cross-platform document handling system which reads PDF and various other formats.
Consult your browser's help options for information on how to open PDFs automatically using your chosen reader.
If you need, or would prefer, to access the content in a more accessible and flexible format such as HTML, Adobe provides online conversion tools including a form for direct HTML conversion.
